"It's funky, unique and refreshing to hear.
Totally original sound- No really, I'm not kidding- totally original!!"

Inspired by video games
and cartoons of decades past, pop music of the early 80's, and the marvels
of modern technology, OttO Vector is a
highly-animated experiment that strives to inject new character and
panache into the world of electronic pop music. With a focus on heavy
beats, catchy melodies, and unique songwriting OttO Vector represents a
balanced synthesis of "live-band" and electronic/dance/techno music- with
retro pop sensibilities.
OttO Vector arrived
in Detroit in the Summer of 2002, created by Mike Sonic and Ginseng. Both
had many years of experience as members of "live" bands in Detroit
(ideosonics
for Sonic,
Love Machine Blue for Ginseng), but
neither ventured into the purely "electronic" realm. Using their years of
collective musical experience as a guide, Sonic and Ginseng (assisted
occasionally by
Love Machine Blue keyboardist Will Daviddi) wrote and
recorded a small library of 80s-inspired electronic techno-pop songs. While this
was sufficient for many months, the group became ambitious to take their
new project a step further. Wanting to
further expand the boundaries of the project to a "live/performance"
venue, the group recruited the full time talents of both Will Daviddi and Jacobe
to play live drums and bass, respectively. The project reached full
definition with the addition of vocalist Renee', the humanity of her voice
serving as a perfect foil to the electronic audio landscape. Thus was born
the electro-pop-rock hybrid that is OttO Vector.
OttO Vector performed
their first show in January of 2004 at The Blind Pig in Ann Arbor,
Michigan. After several months of successful shows, Jacobe parted
amicably with the band- and in August of the same year, General Lee
(formerly
"Stanly" of
Love Machine Blue) joined the mix as OttO's bassist.
In October 2004, OttO
Vector released their first demo/EP,
Dv2.0.
